Be Proud of Yourself

When you are drawing, someone else is always drawing a better picture. When you are wearing your favorite shirt, someone else always looks better in the same shirt. When you say something hilarious, someone else always tells a better joke.
People keep comparing themselves to others all the time and many do it even without noticing. We are raised to believe that we have to be the best of all. When we are little kids, our parents tell us how we are the most beautiful children in the world and no one is more beautiful. When we grow up and start school, we spend years and years being compared to others by teachers and other students. I remember how we used to spend time having sleepovers and tell which one of us had the most beautiful hair, the most gorgeous eyes and even whose home was the prettiest. So it's not really our fault that we compare ourselves to everyone else.
However, this should stop. In surprisingly many cases people should just be selfish and be proud of themselves. Be happy with themselves and what they've reached. If someone close to you has succeeded, forget being selfish and be happy for them and make them feel good for what they've done. Remember how good it feels, when people are proud of you and give someone else that feeling.
Don't let anyone make you feel less about your success. There will always be someone who's envious and wants to talk you down and doing so, make themselves feel somewhat better. I know I've had this kinds of people in my life and sometimes I still do. When you tell about your success to these people, they will start talking about how they or someone they know has done the same thing long before and better than you. Just rise above it and keep being proud of yourself (don't have too much pride though, it's not pretty).
Like I said in the beginning  of this post, there will always be someone who you think is better than you. Don't let it distract you, because hey, maybe there is someone who has done the same thing better. However your own success is exactly that: your success. You shouldn't compare it to anything or anyone else, but to the person you used to be. There's this quote that goes "the only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday".

It's Summer and Time for Wandering

The sudden heat of summer has drained all the energy out of me so I won't be writing a very long and meaningful post. I just wanted to tell you what's up and what I've been doing lately.
I'm sure you're already fed up with this subject, but I just have to mention it: graduation is less than two weeks away! 31st of May I will graduate from Finnish high school/senior high school/upper secondary school, whatever you wanna call it.

Friday the 16th was a national lipstick day to support women who struggle with heart- and lung diseases. So last Friday I wore red lipstick and threw on my spiky leather jacket. I love wearing my favorite pieces of clothing, because they make me feel so confident!

I know, the picture is very bad, I apologize. Anyways, on Saturday I was shopping with my lovely sister and I bought my graduation dress and shoes! I don't really wear dresses and I am really picky when it comes to buying one. We spent about three hours searching for a dress for me and finally we found one. I saw this dress behind a store's window and I knew I had to try it on. The second I wore it I knew it was the dress I wanted. It's in my favorite color and that is always a plus.

I don't know if I've told you this before, but I love horses and I've been riding since I was eight years old. Nowadays I go riding about once or twice a week on this adorable horse!

I will be doing my friend's makeup for graduation and we tried it out today to see how much time it'll take. This is what the makeup looks like. Look at all that sparkle! Lovely, right?

And lastly my friend wanted to buy a few shirts for summer so I went with her to the clothing store. Whenever there's a large mirror, take a selfie!
